From Dr. DeShazo:
I believe that you cannot be healthy alone. Your health is linked to the health of your family and community. That is why I like to spend
time getting to know your story. The more I understand your context, the better I can equip you to live the healthiest life possible.
I also believe that your health is more than your physical well-being. Your emotional and mental health are equally important.
I have a family myself. The best parts of my day are when I’m with my two little girls. If you have a late appointment, you may see them
helping me at work. My husband works in the IT industry, but also spends a lot of time assisting with the technical aspects of the office.
This is a traditional family business. We are active members of the Church of Christ on McDermott Road in Plano.
I went to Harding University and then attended medical school at Texas A&M. My residency was in urban family medicine at the University
of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. I am board certified in family medicine by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
When I am out of the office, my calls are covered by my two associates, Drs. Timothy Brinkman and Jeffery George. Both are board certified
family physicians with active practices of their own. We share office space, but do not routinely share patients. When you schedule an appointment
you can expect to see me, though exceptions are made in cases of emergency.
You may download and print the following .pdf files and either bring them with you before your appointment time,
or use them as reference before and during your appointment.
Additional services and procedures are offered.
Patients are seen by appointment only.
We offer many same-day sick appointments as a courtesy to our patients.
Please call in advance to schedule physicals.
We treat all ages, providing newborn care, geriatric care, and all ages in between. All routine childhood well-care is provided,
including immunizations and school physicals. We also treat common childhood illnesses, asthma, ADHD, and infections.
Adults will receive recommended preventative care, including well-woman exams and adult vaccinations. We manage the majority
of adult illnesses in our office, referring patients out only as necessary. You can expect full-spectrum care for diabetes, hypertension,
asthma, depression, high cholesterol, skin conditions, and thyroid conditions. We also help prepare you for overseas travel.
We accept most common insurance plans serving the north Texas area, including the following insurance plans. Please contact our office if you do not see your plan listed.
Insurance plans change, so please present your insurance card at each visit to ensure proper payment from your insurance company.
We accept patients who do not have insurance coverage. A 20% discount is applied to all self-pay patients who pay in full at the time of service.
Payment plans are also available.
Co-pays and payments for services not covered by your insurance are paid at the time of your visit.
We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
